LOW POWER SOCIETY
Continuous hyperconsumption and the end of the middle class in
a hyperurban planet
New York. The architect and composer Emanuel
Dimas de Melo Pimenta - who is also author of diverse works published
in different countries - is launching a new book: LOW POWER SOCIETY
- continuous hyperconsumption and the end of the middle class
in a hyperurban planet. The book has a preface by Jon Rappoport,
recognized American journalist and artist who lives in California.
The book, wrote between 2003 and 2008, traces a profound radiography
of the planet and the dramatic transformations of the last years,
revealing a surprising relation between the world metamorphosis
and esthetical questions. To Jon Rappoport, "the book is
extremely precise and acute; so magnified that it explodes every
detail it offers and makes it into a new planet". LOW POWER
SOCIETY's first edition is free and can be obtained in the site
http://www.emanuelpimenta.net/lowpower.html
The book reveals impressing data about the world transformations.
Written in an accessible and dynamic language, it is a work of
interest not only to economists, sociologists or philosophers,
but to everyone who is alerted to human development.
Emanuel Pimenta was born in Brazil and lives in Locarno, Switzerland.
But, he also has bases in New York and Lisbon. He recently founded
the HOLOTOPIA Academy, an institution oriented to arts and sciences,
in the Amalfi Coast, Italy.
